Dr. Bethany R. Russell is the owner and clinical director of Bethany R. Russell, Ph.D. & Associates, P.A. (operator of RussellMentalHealth.com and MPowerMe.app). With a Ph.D. in Counselor Education & Supervision from the University of Central Florida, she has dedicated her career to pediatric mental health, play therapy innovation, and counselor education.
Dr. Russell taught play therapy and counselor supervision as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Counseling at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU, 2023–2026) and previously served as the Assistant Director of Research at the UCF Center for Play Therapy Research and Training. She is the 2026 Honorable Mention recipient of the national IPEC Public Health Service COF Excellence in Interprofessional Collaboration Award (Health Communications & Health Technology).
Additionally, Dr. Russell serves on the CMS (Medicare & Medicaid) Federal HealthTech Ecosystem Working Group on Conversational Patient-Facing AI, helping guide national standards for safety, empathy, and clinical efficacy in healthcare technology.
